Inspired by the history of Musang King, We present Pulau Raya Musang King (Raja Kunyit) selections to honour its longstanding heritage.
1790: The ancestor of the Chung family sailed across Nanyang and landed in Kelantan.
1900s: As the Chungs built a home on the islet, they discovered the first Musang King tree.
1950s: The indulgent durian became known to nearby villages. With its signature deep, golden yellow flesh, the locals called it Raja Kunyit (Turmeric King). Farmers began to cultivate it in their family orchards.
1980s: Raja Kunyit was popularized in Gua Musang, and gained its new name, Musang King. Today, Musang King has gained international success, and is cultivated at a commercial scale.
